There is no evidence of a post mark. The rectangular negative chop is very poorly struck but appears to be an "important correspondence" marking which is usually found on government correspondence. The marks at upper left indicate 5 dirhems weight and 1 piaster twenty paras postage so the envelope didn't travel very far. I can't read the manuscript address which will tell where the letter went. In my opinion it's an official letter. To me the value of the cover is minimal. Maybe five to ten pounds or so? |
