Stanley Gibbons Press Release
The 7th edition of the Stanley Gibbons Middle East Catalogue is due to be published in August 2009, priced at £42.50. This is the latest edition of an extremely popular catalogue, last published in 2005.
The catalogue is the only catalogue published in English which covers the stamp issues of the Middle East region in a single volume. Importantly, it includes a substantial amount of postal history information, including priced listings of British stamps used in Egypt, Indian stamps used in Iraq and Bahrain as well as illustrated notes concerning their use in other territories. Information is provided at the beginning of each country covering history, early stamp issues and currency changes.
Countries covered in this catalogue are Abu Dhabi, Aden, Ajman, Bahrain, British Postal Agencies in Eastern Arabia, Dubai, Egypt, Fujeira, Gaza, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Muscat, Oman, Palestine, Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Ras al Khaima, Saudi Arabia, Sharjah, South Arabia, Syria, Trucial States, Umm al Qiwain, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
This catalogue deals with in detail with the break up of Yemen, including Yemen (Kingdom, Republic and Royalist Civil War Issues), Yemen People's Democratic Republic and Yemen (combined).
All major varieties are included, notably perforation, watermark and shade variations,
